Inaugural ‘Get Fucked’ List

July 18, 2009

This is the beginning of a great thing, I’m sure of it. Every week I will post a list of things or people that can ‘Get Fucked’! So here is the first Get Fucked list for the week beginning 13/07/09.

  • My front door – for being hard to open/close
  • My local council – for fucking up my neighborhood streets
  • Shit drivers – for being shit drivers and nearly causing me to crash in to them
  • Stupid people – who don’t give me enough information and expect me to know what they are talking about
  • America – for being so far away and having such a ridiculous time difference

So that’s all for this week, but I’m sure as time goes on more and more will make it onto this not so exclusive list. And if you are on it, it is not such a good thing, because if you are, then you can GET FUCKED! :)

Been A While

July 18, 2009

So it’s been a while since I have written anything on here, mainly due to my complete and utter laziness but from now on I will try to keep it updated as much as possible. I guess the main reson I want to get it up and going again will be the travel I plan on doing. Starting with Fiji and possibly Vanuatu in October/November for my cousin’s wedding. Should be a lot of fun and can’t wait. So yeah, that’s all. If you’re reading this, you’ll cool!

Melbourne Madness

October 9, 2008

After arriving back in Adelaide on Monday afternoon, I had more sleep that night than I did the entire weekend! It wasn’t some marathon sleep effort either, just a bit more than the standard 8 hours a night some people recommend. So as you can imagine, the weekend was pretty big and took a lot out of me, and now, even on Thursday, I still find myself short on sleep. Do I regret it though? No, not at all. I’m feeling the effects of it now, my body is tired both physically and mentally, I have a headache, and am starting to get a cold, but I know that it was all self inflicted and will power through it all and know that it was all worthwhile for the memories we have made.

Our weekend started on Friday, and as we headed to the airport we were all so excited and couldn’t wait to get on that plane. Once we were up in the air the flight was fairly short and we arrived in Melbourne and made our way to the hotel, and checked in. First stop after that was heading to the supermarket and bottle shop to get supplies for the weekend, which mainly consisted of Doritos (for making nachos), the salsa to go with it, some pita bread and dip, soft drinks, and alcohol. It all served us well.

Friday night we headed out to a club and partied our way to early hours of the morning before finally heading back to the hotel, having a couple of hours sleep, and waking up again to head out and explore the city for the day. Wandering the streets was a good idea as it got us out in the fresh air and we were able to walk our big night off so we could do it all again. We made our way around, checking out a lot of different places, and checking out all the different shops and factory outlets we found.

Later that night we ventured to our good friend Krissy’s new place in Melbourne to catch up with her and meet some of her friends, and of course, knock back a few drinks with her. After a couple of hours there we headed out to a pub/club for drinks, music, dancing, and friends. It was a good night, until we got lost walking home from the Crown Casino, but still, made for a good adventure and stories to go with it.

Sunday was a whole new day, and we woke slightly later than the previous just so our bodies didn’t hate us quite so much. We made it down to Chapel Street for a late breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage, toast, tomato & mushrooms, and damn it was good. This put us in good stead for the rest of the day for more shopping and exploring the city. We ended up heading back to Smith Street to the Converse factory outlet so we could get some new kicks. (See picture of mine below).

Sunday night was our chance to get dressed up, and go out for a nice meal to treat ourselves while we party and visit another city. We went to a little place on Fitzroy Street in St. Kilda and most of us ordered steak, which we had been talking about for half of the weekend! It was good too, we were very impressed and made for a good night as we headed out to party away our last night in Melbourne.

Monday morning came and what shit weather it was, cold and raining, a big contrast to the rest of the weekend we had already had which was very nice indeed. We packed up all our gear, said our goodbyes to Kate, as she was staying the rest of the week, grabbed some breakfast before catching our bus to the airport. As we arrived at the airport early before check-in, out came the Uno cards, and so did our rowdy ways, making noise and having people stare and laugh as we acted like big kids in the middle of the airport. We eventually checked in, made our way through the gates and got our horde of Krispy Kreme doughnuts before playing some more Uno and then boarding the plane for our trip home. The weekend had come to an end, all of us a little worse for wear, but happy with the our adventures. Now, to plan the next trip…

Long, Long Weekend

October 2, 2008

As I sit here typing this I have less than 3 hours of work to go until my long, long weekend begins. Woo hoo, 4-day weekend. And what a weekend it is going to be, with The Party Posse flying over to Melbourne tomorrow afternoon for fun and games and just to get away from this God forsaken town we like to call Adelaide. Ok, so it’s not that bad, but no doubt it will be great to get away from all the usual Adelaide-ness.

With the crazy girls, Dung & Kate, plus myself and Chandy, we will show those Melbournians how to party Radelaide, Madelaide & Badelaide style! They won’t know what hit them as we party it up from the moment we land to the moment we leave.

With many adventures, shenanigans and shopping, with little sleep, it is going to be a weekend to remember, or possibly one we can’t remember… Either way, it doesn’t matter, because we will be away from home, with great friends, having great fun, without a care in the world.

PARTY TIME WITH ALL OF MY PEOPLE!!!

ENPPL Gaining Momentum

September 28, 2008

From www.evilninjapirates.com

The first ENPPL event was held last night and was no doubt a success. People from all over Adelaide turned out to participate and others who came to watch were not disappointed.

As this was only a lead up tournament, people were having a bit of a laugh and it wasn’t too serious to begin with, but as the hands progressed, so did the seriousness. Dave-O was first out and became dealer, even though he wasn’t very good at it, but he tried and that’s what mattered. Scotty was down to his last $100 of chips before hitting a lucky streak and winning 5 hands in a row, going all-in each time to become chip leader. Unluckily he too bowed out along with other which left Kate and Teddy to fight it out at the end, eventually with Teddy prevailing. Kate was the big surprise though, making the final two, with everyone expecting her to go out first.

A few new faces for the second game with the stakes rising, it was bound to be a good one. Chris started went out hard, possibly due to the half bottle of Canadian Club he had drunk, and unfotunately, it didn’t pay off for him, being the first to leave the table. The games continued on, before everyone once again being surprised, this time with Monica making it to the final two, along with Mark. Mark “I don’t even know what I have got but still win” Wolstencroft also surprising the crowd by not only making the final two, but actually winning it all!

The night was a glimpse of what is to come from the new Evil Ninja Pirates Poker League, which is no doubt only going to get bigger and stronger. With regular fixtures set to be planned, and big name players, people are eagerly waiting to play.

The official launch is supposed to be happening in the coming weeks, is just being held up by some scheduling issues at the moment. Once these are sorted though, the ENPPL is set to take off. Stay tuned for more details.

STEREOSONIC 08

September 23, 2008

Stereosonic is coming to Adelaide, and what a great lineup it is! This is one we have all been waiting for and November can’t come quick enough. By then the sun will be shining for a fun, but long day at Bonython Park with great music, and even greater friends.

It will be held on Saturday 29th November from 12 midday until 10pm, and the lineup includes names such as Sneaky Sound System, Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox with many more and others still to be announced.

Stereosonic Adelaide 2008

The top three are the big names, but no doubt the rest will not fail to disappoint either. It is going to be an awesome day, so if you’re going, let me know so we can organise breakfast/drinks/transportation. See y’all there! Peace out!

Lead Up Poker Tournament

September 14, 2008

From http://evilninjapirates.com/

In a lead up to what is being billed as the hottest new poker tournament in the world, the ENPPL would like to present the Lead Up Tournament, before the first Evil Ninja Pirates Poker Tournament takes place.

The Lead Up Tournament is set to take place on the 27th of September 2008 at the ENP Headquarters. While not as prestigious as the First Invitational is going to be, the lead up event will still feature some big name players, who no doubt will keep their reputations in tact and not let this slip away. Even if it is only a lead up event.

Buy In’s will be set at $5 a round to begin with, and hopefully, time willing, at least three rounds will be played through. Standard rules apply with other details to be provided on the night.

Unfortunately, the bartender will be interstate during this tournament so refreshments will need to be fetched by the players themselves, or possibly spectators if you can convince them. Refreshments will be the house special, which is BYO.

For any further details, send an email to enppl@evilninjapirates.com.

New Poker League Set To Take Over

August 31, 2008

From http://evilninjapirates.com/

The first Evil Ninja Pirates Invitational Poker Tournament is sure to become one of the most prestigious events the poker world has ever seen. In a league of its own, The Evil Ninja Pirates Poker League, or ENPPL, it will be the basis of big things to come for all involved.

The tournament will be by invitation only, with only 20 invitations to go out to some of the best and most highly regarded poker players the event organisers know. While it is unknown exactly who these invitations will go to, rumours have been leaked that one will be going to big time player James “Teddy” Tedmanson, while another will be going to the one and only Jason Nair, aka Snowflake. With big names like these the tournament will be bound for big things and no doubt will be highly talked about amongst the poker community.

The event is set to be held on the 27th of September, 2008, at the official headquarters of The Evil Ninja Pirates Organisation, The Room. Players will begin to arrive after 6.30pm, for sign in, a bit to eat, and no doubt interviews with the press and signing of autographs for the fans. The tournament will then begin at 7.30pm and go on late into the night.

Another rumour that has surfaced is that famous bartender and recently unemployed, Belinda Wolstencroft will be making an appearance behind the bar to serve the guests up with drinks and random heckling. Both should not be missed.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

August 31, 2008

My new favourite game! Well at least for the time being. It will come and go like everything else I’m sure, but still, it is a lot of fun at the moment. I see it being a lot more fun playing against or with other people than on my own though. Why don’t more people I know have a Wii so I can play against them and relieve my boredom? To all the people out there that don’t have a Wii: Get one, and get the games I have so we can play against each other. It will be fun and good times all around! Or, pay me a vist and just play on mine, against me. Yay! You know you want to! As for the game, the single player mission has been keeping me busy, but then there is so much more to do as well in single player, so much to unlock. It should keep me going for a while yet, which is good as I don’t see any other great games on the horizon at the moment.

Rockets Go Back-to-Back

August 28, 2008

The Division 4 State League Grand Final was played last night at Pasadena Stadium between the North Adelaide Rockets and the Western Magic. With the Rockets dominating the Northern Conference all year, and the Magic beating out big favourite, Forestville 2, in the semi final, It was sure to be a big match up. In the other semi final, North held off the last Southern Conference team in Flinders Uni, who had been a force all year.

North would go into the game as favourites, having beaten the Magic in their two encounters during the year and also on a 11 game winning streak. However, the Magic were with their full squad and on a streak of their own, and having beaten some tough oponents, it wasn’t going to be easy.

The crowd showed the great anticipation everyone had for this game with over 150 turning out to cheer their teams on. While the Magic brought loud voice and chants, the North supporters easily matched them with their voices, pom poms and giant banner.

North got out to a great start, finding open shots and playing great defence which so them go into the first break with the lead. The Magic weren’t giving up though, and fought back tirelessly, only to have North up their defensive pressure and go on a 10-0 run which saw the lead out to 16. Magic fought back to decrease the lead slightly but half time, but a lot of people were sensing the damage had already been done.

The Magic had other ideas, coming out of the half time break with energy to try and diminish the lead. They got the lead back down to 4 points before North called a timeout and made some much needed substitutions. North finished off the quarter strongly going into the last quarter with a double digit lead. This was no reason for them to slacken off though, with the memories of the previous year’s Grand Final still in their minds where they nearly blew a double digit lead going into the last quarter.

North knew what they had to do and came out to give their all in the last quarter, running it out, playing exceptional defence, and playing a great team game to take the lead to close to 30 points with five and a half minutes to play. They then cleared their bench with the 5 players who built the unassailable lead coming off, for the 5 from the bench to come in and finish off the game. The Magic never gave up and fought back strong, but North were not going to relenquish their lead, with the final scoreline reading 84-70.
